Kensington CAPA High School Fact Sheet

The New Kensington CAPA School will have a student capacity of 400, and will house
students in grades 9-12. The school will be located on a 7.2 acre site between South
Kensington and Fishtown.

The following is a breakdown SF by floors:

1. First floor square foot area is 63,292 SF
2. Second floor square foot area is 25,113 SF
3. Total floor area is 88,405 SF.

Classroom breakdown:

1. (11) General Purpose Classrooms: Features include daylighting, tack and
whiteboards, smartboard, built-ins and storage.

2. (1) Full Size Special Education Classroom: Features include daylighting, tack and
whiteboards, smartboard, built-ins and storage.

3. (1) Life Skills Classroom with separate toilet and kitchen. Features include
daylighting, tack and whiteboards, built-ins and storage.

4. (1) Instrumental Music Room with 3 adjacent practice rooms, music storage, built-ins

5. (1) Choral Classroom with risers, music storage, robe storage and built-in storage

6. (2) Art Studios – one 2D and one 3D with kiln, as well as supply and art storage

7. (2) Science Labs with separate teachers prep area

8. (1) Computer Lab adjacent to IMC

9. (1) Dance Studio with changing rooms
